Incredible. Good thing he's an old man, otherwise the ***** would bury his ass.

Scully is no doubt the best ever play by play guy of all time. I did not even watch the above clip just a statement .

Ive started several threads saying the same . He is simply the best

I will watch a game SIMPLY because he is doing it. No way I can say that about anyone else in the world.

Mr. Scully is from a bygone era when common sense, chivalry and patriotism were the norm.

67 years in the broadcast booth and this is his final year.

We won't hear his kind again.

Perfectly said.

The Death of common sense and chivalry within USA is so saddening.

If more sports announcers put in commentary like this these games might actually be watchable. Only problem I have with Scully here is that his tirade only lasted one pitch, would have been better if he had carried on for at least a couple of innings

Scully use to tell players entire life stories in a single at bat.
He will tell you the most obscure stuff you could not imagine. And he use to do this even before the Internet. Back when you actually had to do reserch to find that kind of info

Bob Costas once said he knew there was a God by virtue of the fact nothing important happened in any game until Vin finished his story.

I'd rather listen to Vin Scully on the radio than watch any modern television broadcast team...

Lucky for us he doesn't work for ESPN or he would have been fired for striking out socialism.

He told a great story about how many Madison Bumgartners there are in the area MadBum grew up. Quite a few. Unrivaled how he raises his voice to emphasize the importance (bolded) "Bumgartner dated a girl named Madison Bumgartner and at the High School Bumgartner went to there is girl in attendance named Madison Bumgartner"
